Lindsay Christensen is a conflict transformation practitioner who helps individuals and organizations navigate conflict and open lines of communication, access clarity, create understanding, and generate agreements and solutions.
A mediator with a background in restorative practices, Lindsay specializes in designing conflict resolution processes for communities and organizations. She also offers custom-designed workshops and personal conflict coaching.
Lindsay’s tools emphasize personal responsibility and are rooted in the belief that conflict offers us the opportunity to grow as people and deepen trust in relationship with others. Her work draws on interpersonal relating and resiliency skills such as NVC, Compassionate Listening, trauma-informed care, and anti-oppressive facilitation.
Lindsay received her Master's in conflict resolution and peace studies from Portland State University, where she trained as a mediator under Mary Zinkin. She has been certified as a mediator with the Multnomah County Small Claims Circuit and trained as a victim-offender dialogue facilitator for Lutheran Community Services NW.
Fascinated by what connects and divides us, and by the ways in which our values give rise to behaviors, her areas of focus include restorative justice, emotional literacy, compassionate listening, power/influence, building community across difference, and identifying and shifting power imbalances in relationships, from the interpersonal to the systemic.
